Le Saint, les pélicans et le cycliste. 2016

Le Saint, les pélicans et le cycliste. 2016. J.Harms.

29×39 cm. Acrylic on paper (Private collection).

Un mercredi après-midi à Crépy-en-Valois. Sur les pavés de la vieille ville un jeune cycliste déboule à vive allure, sous le regard d’un saint et de deux pélicans. Après tout, il n’y a pas école le mercredi.

On a Wednesday afternoon I was wandering around the old city of Crépy-en-Valois. The narrow cobblestone streets form a kind of maze in the old part of the town. For a while, I almost had the feeling of having gone back in time, until two pelicans and a light blue store front appeared  in front of me. As I was watching the peculiar sight, a young boy rode by on his bike. After all it was Wednesday, and there is no school on wednesdays.

  1. Plein de charme…

    1. Merci Francis 🙂

  2. I love the feeling of slight unreality here. As if it were the start of a story with magic in it.

    1. Thank you for this lovely comment !

  3. Very Northern France and I do enjoy a glass of dark Pelforth
